Hanwell Carnival is a cherished West London tradition, bringing neighbours, families and friends together for a joyful celebration of community spirit.
Held annually on the third Saturday of June, the Carnival has grown from humble beginnings into one of the capital's best-loved free events. Our next Carnival will take place on 19th June 2027.

Hanwell Carnival's story stretches back over 125 years, making it London's oldest continuously running community carnival. What began as a small local gathering in 1898 has blossomed into a much-loved annual tradition, shaped by generations of Hanwell residents who have given their time, creativity and passion to keep it alive. Our main focus at Hanwell Carnival is to give something back to the community we all cherish as home. Behind the scenes the committee of more than 30 volunteers have been working hard to make sure each event is a whole lot of fun on the day itself.
Nobody involved in staging this event is paid a penny, we are all volunteers: a team of individuals just like you with families, jobs and commitments, and maybe a certain useful skill and some spare time. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes. We do this because we believe it worth doing.
We'd love to welcome new members, there is always a need for business minds, artistic types, social media experts - anything you can think of, both ahead of the Carnival and on the big day itself. You could join the team to help organise the event, distribute posters and leaflets, help create artwork, manage our social media platforms, lend some muscle to help set up the park on the day before, or help with stewarding. The list is endless.
