opportunities to get involved, whether you are a charity, company or private
individual. With some 15,000 visitors on the day Hanwell Carnival is the second
largest carnival in West London after Notting Hill.
Volunteers
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the
carnival, its a real community effort and takes a lot to put it on. Whatever
your contribution everyone and everything is very welcome.
The Carnival Queen & Princess perform an essential
function opening the Carnival and representing Hanwell for the coming year.
Previous Hanwell Royalty are a very select band many of whom last year got
together to celebrate 50 continuous years, they are even discussing setting up
an association.
The judging is over, we have a new Carnival Queen &
Princess. This year we were delighted that Amanda Redman, currently appearing
in New Tricks on the BBC, was the guest judge for this years competition,
together with James Gates of the Ealing Gazzette and our own Colin Chalmers the
Carnival Chairman. For the full story go to the
Carnival Queen
Page.
