We had a go at the Guinness World
Records for the largest gathering of people in their dressing gowns
(bathrobes) on12 June 2011. The attempt took place on the playing fields of St
Marks School on the Boston Road. Unfortunately it rained cats and dogs on the
day and we missed our target of 250. 191 people turned up which was
extraordinary given the weather.
The people who paid to have
their photograph taken, which would have been sent to them with a copy of the
official certificate, have been contacted and offered either the rain soaked
photo together with a NOT a World Record Cetificate, Rollover to the next
attempt, or a full refund.
Hanwellians are nothing if not resiliant
however and we are determined to have another go, this time at an indoor venue!
We plan on doing this towards the end of July so watch this space.
